Lowry Pool Project – Los Angeles, CA
The project’s architectural force is rooted in its structure. Retaining walls and deep piles do more than hold the hillside—they choreograph the space, creating the framework for terraces, pools, and decks to emerge.
The pool, spa, and cascading patios are conceived as true architectural extensions, carrying the same weight and intentionality as an interior remodel. What might have been a landscape alone becomes a designed environment, with outdoor rooms that feel both permanent and composed.
Movement through the site follows a careful sequence. Each terrace descends deeper into the slope, unfolding experiences that shift from collective gathering to quiet retreat, building tension and then release as the city views open wide.
For musician Mickey Madden, the result is a private hillside stage—part performance, part sanctuary—where entertainment spaces and secluded escapes exist in balance.
