Mountain View Residence Los Angeles , Ca 2006

It's the first high end, custom designed house to Utilize ICF and SIP Structural Systems. The stick built home construction has not changed much in the past 100 years.

It was a simpler structural system that could be fabricated in a controlled factory setting and shipped to the site for erection, reducing construction time and increasing efficiency.

This project is the first house in LA to use their SIPs system as the primary structural system. The walls were built in the factory in Arizona and shipped to the site for quick erection.
The house is designed to take advantage of the views, maximize natural light in every room, and provide good natural ventilation. There is a roof top deck to take advantage of the superb 360 degree view of the Los Angeles Basin. The panorama consists of Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Westwood, Century City, the Hollywood Hills and Downtown Los Angeles. The best views from the second floor rooms are towards the Northeast and northwest.

The massing of the house maximizes corner windows on the Northeast and northwest. The views from the first floor are of private outdoor areas. Both the living room and the family room have walls of glass that slide out of the way to create large openings between the indoor and outdoor rooms.

The mass of the house is separated into 2 interlocking volumes to form a ‘T’ shaped plan. This allows each of the rooms to have windows and light from 2 or 3 sides. There is an open stair at the intersection of the 2 volumes which brings natural light down into the center of the house and with the chimney effect allows hot air to ventilate through the rooftop windows, keeping the house bright and comfortable naturally.

Sipp panels are being installed at the second floor.

Mosque

Ideal of a mosque. Represents the core of the god idea as light emerging from the earth to the eternity. The light represents the God. The illusion of the god in our imagination. The unknown energy.
